Wendy Williams & Alyssa Milano Have a Breastfeeding Showdown (VIDEO)

Alyssa Milano and Wendy Williams clash over public breastfeeding

It's no secret how controversial The Wendy Williams Show can be. The "say-it-like-you-mean-it" talk show host is never afraid to give her opinion -- including on hot-button parenting topics. Wendy and Alyssa Milano's public breastfeeding debate has gained attention, as the two went back and forth on why people have such an issue with something so natural.

"I don't need to see that."

Tell us how you really feel, Wendy.

The 51-year-old Jersey mom just doesn't understand why nursing moms don't go to their car to feed their child. Admitting she doesn't get it, Wendy seemingly tried her best to stay respectful of Alyssa Milano's decision to post breastfeeding photos on social media -- despite her opposition to displays of public nursing.

"Why is it okay to show that picture of Miley Cyrus with two suspenders over her breasts?" Alyssa asked Wendy. "So for you, maybe you've sexualized breasts?"

Alyssa has never shied away from breastfeeding, and has no problems advocating for social acceptance. Mother to Milo, 4, and Elizabella, 16 months, the 43-year-old actress just can't understand why something as natural as breastfeeding is so taboo.

Sorry, Wendy, I have to agree with Alyssa on this one.

... And breasts aren't just "fun bags"; they actually serve a purpose.

As Alyssa says:

Biologically, they're [breasts] not made for sexual things. That's what we've done to them.

... But you have to realize that, all over the world, you're [Wendy] the not norm.

Look, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinions, but we really need to come to a point in our society where breasts aren't, as Wendy calls them, a "sexual thing, more than a feeding thing."

For far too long, we've been taught it's okay to show your ass and tits, but to nurse your child in public? Oh no, that deserves a scarlet letter.

Whether you breastfeed, tried to do it, or just aren't into it, live your life. It's natural, it's biological, and, more importantly, it's legal to do while you're out and about.

I'm happy these two were able to give this issue a television platform, so that people can see the opposing sides. Hopefully, we'll get to a place where a mom nursing her baby in public isn't such a horrible thing that must be confined to the walls of a public bathroom stall (I've done that, and it's really icky).

I appreciate Wendy and Alyssa's honesty and will cross my fingers that public nursing will no longer be a "thing," or big deal.
