Adele's Parenting Philosophy Is One All Moms Can Learn From

adeleCould Adele possibly get any cooler? The 27-year-old has been knocking it out of the park lately in the career and style departments, and now she's proving what an amazing mom she is to 3-year-old son Angelo

The current Time magazine cover model talked about her experiences as a mom in the issue, and it's clear that her approach to parenting is just as flawless as her voice:

He makes me so proud of myself, and he makes me like myself so much. I’ve never not liked myself. I don’t have hang-ups like that. But I’m so proud of myself that I made him in my belly ... I can’t wait to know who his best friends are going to be, who his girlfriend or his boyfriend is going to be or what movies he likes ... whatever my kid wants to do or be I will always support him no matter what.

How awesome is that? Not just the part about how she'll always accept her son no matter what, but the part about how Angelo makes her feel proud of herself. Good for her! In this mommy war–fighting, #shaming, troll-happy, misogynistic society, how many of us can honestly say that being a mom makes us like ourselves?

We're so conditioned to focus on our shortcomings as parents that we can't appreciate the good we do for our children -- or take personal pride in their accomplishments. But that's a shame, really. I'm so happy that Adele has somehow managed to escape this fate, and I'm thankful to her for reminding the rest of us that we're allowed to like ourselves as parents, too!
