Forget the biological clock. Plenty of Hollywood stars are proving that age is no deterrent when it comes to having babies, with some opting for motherhood after they turned the big 4-0.
Is 40 the new 20? Not exactly, but these Hollywood mamas certainly welcomed a baby in their 40s. Click through for a look at Tinseltown's gorgeous older moms.

Tina Fey: 41
Tina Fey gave birth to her second child Penelope when she was 41. Our favorite funny gal and her husband, Jeff Richmond, have another daughter, Alice.

Gwen Stenfani: 44
Our fave "Hollaback Girl" and her then-husband, Gavin Rossdale, were already parents to sons Kingston and Zuma. But according to Stefani, her third son was a miracle. The actress says that it was her son Kingston's constant praying for another sibling that brought Apollo Bowie Flynn into their lives. Stefani was 44 when she gave birth to Apollo.
Maya Rudolph: 41
Bridesmaids actress Maya Rudolph and her long-time partner, director Paul Thomas Anderson, were already parents to three children, Pearl, 9, Lucille, 5, and Jack, 3, when they welcomed a fourth child. Rudolph gave birth at home at age 41 and named her daughter after her late mother, Minnie Ida.
Brooke Shields: 41
Brooke Shields conceived naturally with her second child Grier in 2006, at the age of 41. But surprisingly her first daughter, who the actress had at 37, was the result of IVF. Shields penned a memoir documenting her struggle with postpartum depression, Down Came the Rain, and is married to Chris Henchy.

Marcia Cross: 44
Marcia Cross became a real-life housewife in February 2007. Twins Savannah and Eden came into the world via emergency C-section when the actress was 44. Always open about her struggle with infertility, Cross was doubly blessed.
Molly Ringwald: 41
The beloved '80s actress was 41 when she had twins Adele and Roman in 2009. After the birth of daughter Mathilda Ereni, Ringwald suffered secondary infertility. Needless to say, the actress and her hubby, Panio Gianopoulos, were thrilled to add to their brood.
Thandie Newton: 41
On March 3, 2014, Rogue actress Thandie Newton became a happy mama to a beautiful baby boy, Booker Jambe Parker, at the age of 41. This made for Newton's third home birth. The Brit and her hubby, Ol Parker, are also parents to Ripley and Nico.
Mariah Carey: 40
Singer Mariah Carey topped the charts with the birth of twin sons at the age of 40. While the Grammy winner claimed that being pregnant was difficult, she welcomed Monroe and Moroccan with then-partner Nick Cannon, and scored a giant $12,000 ring as a push gift!

Madonna: 41
Pop sensation Madonna proved once again nothing is out of reach. The singer gave birth to son Rocco at 41. She expanded her family yet again at 48 when she adopted son David Banda, and at 49 when she adopted daughter Mercy James. The Grammy winner also has daughter named Lourdes from a previous relationship.
