marissa meyerBig news was unveiled at Yahoo when CEO Marissa Mayer revealed she is pregnant with twin girls. She's due at the end of the year ... not that that will slow down her career.

"Since my pregnancy has been healthy and uncomplicated and since this is a unique time in Yahoo's transformation, I plan to approach the pregnancy and delivery as I did with my son three years ago, taking limited time away and working throughout," Mayer announced in her blog on Tumblr.

During her first pregnancy in 2012, Mayer was back at work just two weeks after giving birth. So with twins, even if they're double the trouble, experts doubt her maternity leave will be much longer than last time.

Given her two-week maternity leave raised the hackles of moms last time, I'm guessing it'll do the same this time around, too. Many accused her of setting a bad precedent for other working mothers who might want to spend more time at home with their kids, pressuring them to return to work as soon as possible.

Well, I'm gonna come out in defense of Mayer: I think she should do what she wants to do, take whatever maternity leave she wants to take, and not worry about the "precedent" she's setting. She loves her work and wants to get back to it, simple! That doesn't mean she doesn't love her kids.

It also doesn't mean that she's pressuring moms to follow in her footsteps, either. In fact, in 2013, Yahoo doubled the length of their maternity leave.

So, Mayer is a "Lean In" kinda gal. That's alright. It takes all types.
