'Damn, I Wish I Was Your Mother': Sophie B. Hawkins Gives Birth at 50

Sophie B. Hawkins, the '90s star behind hit songs like "As I Lay Me Down" and "Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover," just welcomed her second child! Hawkins's new baby girl has the kind of old-fashioned and lyrical baby name we'd expect from the soulful singer: Esther.

Sophie told Us back in February she was pregnant, and she went to the mag again to announce Esther Ballantine Hawkins's birth on Tuesday, July 7.

Esther has a 6-year-old brother named Dashiell. Sophie said she was worried at first that he wouldn't adjust well to sharing his mama with a little sister, but it sounds like Esther's baby charm won him over. That sounds about right to us. How can you not love a cute little baby face??

Sophie, who's 50, froze 15 of her embryos back when she was just 31. She told Us that she's glad she did because now she gets to raise her kids as a calmer and wiser woman.

Even if that move isn't right for everyone, it sounds like it was the right choice for Sophie and Dash -- and the two couldn't be happier to welcome baby Esther.

Congratulations to the family!

What do you think of the name Esther?
