Gwyneth Paltrow Lets Her Kids Eat Radioactive Cherries: Do You?

Star mom Gwyneth Paltrow is infamous for the food restrictions she's placed on her kids, but it looks like she may not be as prohibitive as we thought ... at least according to a new quote stating her food philosophy.

"My food philosophy is: Nothing should be ruled out," she said in a recent interview with Women's Health. "I don’t believe in saying, ‘You’re not allowed that.’ If my kids want a Shirley Temple with the radioactive cherry in it, go for it, you know?"

Radioactive cherries? Talk about a departure from the past! Reports abound of Gwyneth curbing her entire family's consumption of meat, carbs, eggs, gluten, dairy, and sugar. She's even admitted that this restrictive diet has left her kids with a "specific hunger that comes with avoiding carbs." Hungry kids? How awful!

Understandably, Gwyneth got flack for that. So to me, this sounds like she may try to be doing damage control and appear more easygoing than her current rap suggests.

While I'm not a big fan of Goopy Gwyneth, I have agree with her general point: Anything, even a radioactive cherry, is fine for kids as long as it's not a regular habit. I'm glad for her kids' sake that she's mellower on the food front than she's appeared in the past, because honestly now, what childhood is complete without some macaroni and cheese?

Is any food "off limits" for your kids?
