How Kate & William Spent the First Moments With Their Baby Princess

Once upon a time, a Royal Princess was born .... Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their sweet baby girl this morning! Details have been pouring in though nothing has been as enchanting as the way Kate and William spent the first few hours with their baby girl.

While I'm in the States, far from the excitement surrounding London's St. Mary's Hospital, I can feel the darling Princess energy in the air. A girl! Grandpa Charles got his wish! (It was my wish, too!) Inside the hospital, however, Kate and William choose to keep it very serene and special with only Mum and Dad with their newborn baby girl. A source told People magazine that Kate and William spent the first two and a half hours after the Princess was born bonding and getting to know their sweet little one.

I can just imagine them studying her cute face, counting those fingers and toes, delighting in her coos, and staring in the amazing beauty of life. It is the most precious time for new parents, and I love that they made it extra special. Because as we know -- everyone wants to know everything about the Princess and the minute they let the public in on the fine details, it will be hard to recapture that often-needed bonding time. (Though I will be that William would do all in his power to help them have as much privacy as needed.)

After William and Kate had their special newborn moments, they called their loved ones to share the news. Prince George, who is a few months shy of turning 2, isn't even there yet -- he's with his nanny Maria Borrallo -- though I'd bet he's first in line to meet his Princess sister.
