The Duggars may know plenty about parenting, but not everything apparently. Just ask Jill, who's getting a lot of flack for a Facebook photo showing her with baby Israel in his sling ... positioned the wrong way.

At first glance, it's hard to know whether Jill's wearing her baby at all -- but if he is in there, he could be in danger of suffocating, at least according to many commentators. Check it out below:

Who knows? Maybe we caught Jill at a bad moment when her sling had just slipped. But all in all, I think this photo is a good reminder that moms who decide to use slings should read up on sling safety first.

According to the CPSC, 14 babies have died in the past 20 years due to problems with baby carriers. And slings are particularly prone to suffocation risks, since they may press a baby's face into your side, making it hard for baby to breathe.

So if you use a sling, make sure your baby's face is not covered. Make sure your baby's face is "visible and kissable" at all times. Because after all, don't you want your baby visible and kissable at all times anyway?

How do you feel about the safety of slings and babywearing?
