Jill Duggar Shares New Due Date For Baby Dilly

The due date has come and gone and there's still no Baby Dilly to be seen. But, as a student midwife, Jill Duggar knows not to expect the little man to come exactly on the day he's expected. That's why Jill has actually set a second due date for herself. Jill predicts her son will be born late and on April 5.

The mom-to-be has been experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions, but expects the pregnancy to last awhile longer. The newlywed chatted with People about the last few weeks of pregnancy:

I have told myself, 'First-time moms often go a week and a half over, so don't get discouraged. When everyone else is asking you, 'When are you going to have that baby?' The baby will come when the baby comes.

And it's all a winning strategy. She's not entirely committed to the due date and knows that that's not the way first time pregnancies usually go. Her reverse mentality is solid, and she knows that she was "planning on the baby coming late, no big deal. If you have it in your head that way, you won't get discouraged."

Smart? Absolutely. Don't set your sights on any specific due date, and when you know that it'll probably be late, you won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

And she's practicing what she's learning first-hand. Jill's still attending midwifery school and training (she even delivered a baby just two weeks ago), and says "it is really exciting to be studying this when pregnant. It takes on a whole different light when you are studying about when you are going through."

Done and done. She's learning all about how to deliver a baby into the world and training to help moms undergo labor and delivery. Now she'll be able to give them some personal experiences as examples.

Now she's just ready for the next step of the adventure. And we're all keeping our eyes posted on Baby Dilly.

How late were you with your first baby?
