Ryan Reynolds Isn't as Afraid of His Baby Girl As He Wants Us to Think

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have managed to keep their baby girl's name secret for four months. How this is even possible in an age where information travels at the speed of light is beyond our comprehension—but they've pulled off this feat. A better question might be WHY these two gorgeous people feel so strongly about enshrouding her name in secrecy. Ryan has finally provided an explanation—and we aren't buying it.

During an interview with the Associated Press, Ryan admitted he fears his little girl will grow up and become a teenager who will "exact her revenge in searing, psychic pain" if he blabs about her name now.

He says that he tells everyone who asks—surely, he means his friends and not talk show host who have grilled him to no end—and that the name will eventually get out. But when, oh when, is this miraculous day going to take place?

More from The Stir: Ryan Reynolds Reveals Truth About His Baby's Name (It's Not Violet!)

So far, here's what we know about their baby name. It isn't any of the following: Olivia, Sophia, Emma, Eva, Isabella, Ruth, Abigail, or Violet.

It could be James. Then again, considering how neither Ryan nor Blake have commented on that, it could very well be Mary. Or Jessica. Or any one of millions of other names.

Of course, Ryan is full of it and does not fear his daughter is going to come after him when she hits 13. The couple probably know it's just a matter of time before they are photographed everywhere with Baby J (or X or S or whatever) and her name is one of the last few things they can protect and keep sacred.

What do you think about Ryan's explanation for why he and Blake are not revealing their baby's name?
