Cate Blanchett Has a Baby & the Name Is Too Cute for Words

Cate Blanchett, who is starring as evil Lady Tremaine in the live-action Cinderella movie, has just adopted a baby girl and followed in Angelina Jolie's footsteps in more ways than one. Sources are also reporting that Blanchett has chosen the name Edith Vivian for her daughter.


Blanchett, who has been married to husband Andrew Upton since 1997, is already Mom to boys Dashiell, 13, Roman, 10, and Ignatius, 7. Now, she has finally added a little girl to the all-boy brood.

And better yet, she has picked one of the most popular celebrity baby names in recent years. Most famously, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt welcomed little Vivienne Marcheline and her twin, Knox Leon, in 2008.

With just a little alteration, Melissa McCarthy and Gisele Bundchen also used the name. Their spelling, however, is the more Americanized version -- Vivian. Blanchett, instead, has chosen the traditional French spelling that has been popular for generations. But no matter how it's spelled, the vintage name evokes images of glorious and enchanted Hollywood and glamour (just think of designer Vivienne Westwood!).
