Sara Gilbert’s Baby Name Is Perfect For a Little Genius

sara gilbert linda perryWorld, welcome the newest member of The Talk family! Co-host Sara Gilbert and her wife Linda Perry welcomed their first child, a son, over the weekend. The little guy, who made his first appearance on today's episode of the CBS show, also has quite the scholarly name. Gilbert and Perry named their baby boy Rhodes Emilio Gilbert Perry.

The Rosanne alum was not on The Talk today because she's officially started her maternity leave, but co-host Julie Chen made the exciting announcement. Take a look:

This is the first child for Perry, and the third for Gilbert. She's already mom to 9-year-old son Levi and 7-year-old daughter Sawyer from her previous relationship to Allison Adler.

And now, little Rhodes joins the family. His name, though still somewhat conventional, is not as popular as either Levi or Sawyer. Rhodes itself is also the female version of the classic Rose, but also has some pretty lofty connections. It's associated with the Greek island of Rhodes and both Rhodes College in Tennessee and Rhodes University in South Africa. But it's most recognizable influence is through the famous businessman Cecil John Rhodes, who is also the namesake of the Rhodes Scholarship.

Not too shabby for a baby, but all signs point to little genius.

Congratulations to the family!
