More from The Stir: Parents Who Let Their Kids Get Fat Face Huge Fines

Americans love to judge Mama June for all the ways she's done her daughter wrong, with her weight and otherwise. Still, though, this should also serve as a wake-up call to ALL parents.

While the occasional deep-fried Oreo doesn't hurt anyone, parents who allow their kids to wallow in junk food and become obese should be called out on it -- by doctors, school nurses, even well-meaning friends and family. Because let's face it: This type of dietary neglect is harming their kids. And where kids are in danger, an intervention is definitely in order.

Still, young kids can't be expected to make the right choice on their own. So it really is on parents' shoulders to do it for them. Call it "blame," I just call it our responsibility.

How do you feel about parents with obese kids -- should others intervene?
