Jill Duggar Steals Sister-in-Law's Birth Plan

jill and derickWith just a few weeks to go, Jill and Derick Dillard are finalizing the birth plan as they prepare to welcome their first child, and the fourth Duggar grandchild, into the world. But their chosen method is definitely unconventional, because believe it or not, Jill and Derick have chosen to have a home birth.

Many moons ago, when Michelle Duggar gave birth to her first five children (including Jill), she chose to do so in a hospital. But then, for the births of her sixth and seventh (Jinger and Joseph), she and Jim Bob chose home births.

Then, just a few years ago, when the first two Duggar grandchildren were born, they were also via home birth. Anna and Josh Duggar welcomed Mackynzie in their home in 2009, and Michael in 2011. Then, little Marcus arrived in 2013, at the home of Anna's midwife, and was actually delivered through a water birth.

So it looks like Jill's definitely taking some cues from her sister-in-law.

Now that Jill has reached the 35 week mark, the couple is revealing that they're more than ready with their supplies. "We're getting the birthing pool, things like that," Derick tells PEOPLE. "We have a bassinet and a crib."

And, they'll have plenty of support. "My sisters, mom and Derick's mom are available as errand runners," Jill says.

Everything looks to be in order. So naturally, next step: baby.

Did you consider an alternative birth like a water birth?
