Country Singer Luke Bryan Adopts 13-Year-Old After Devastating Family Loss

luke bryan and wifeCountry singer Luke Bryan is officially raising three boys. The singer lost his sister, Kelly, in 2007, and his brother-in-law passed away unexpectedly in November. Now, Bryan and his wife have taken in their 13-year-old nephew, Til, to live with them in their Nashville home.


Bryan and wife Caroline Boyer are helping their nephew and his two older sisters cope with the tragic news. Now, the 13-year-old joins Bryant's two sons, Bo and Tate, and his nieces regularly come to visit.

He opened up about the family in a recent ABC News interview. "We feel like if we just stay positive through this, maybe we'll be a positive inspiration for people that had these things happen to 'em," he said. "You just have to plow on and play the hand that's dealt."

But despite the heartbreaking losses, he's determined to stay optimistic. "We just stay positive," he added. "I think people expect that from me. I have to pray that people that have had similar situations can maybe look at my family and see me positively dealing with it. I'm not saying it's easy."

And that's certainly true. It's far from an "easy" situation for the family and the kids. But the most important thing is that everyone comes together, for the sake of the kids.

At a time of loss and tragedy, kids need adults to come together and help, even if that means adding another child to the family. And Bryan shows us just how important it is for family to come together.
