Lauren Duggar Opens Up About Her 'Long & Difficult Labor'
When Lauren Duggar said she had a rough labor, she wasn't kidding! On Counting On, we got to see Lauren bring baby Bella into the world, and it seems as if the experience was just as difficult as she'd shared on Instagram.
TWO epidurals? Poor thing!
On the special, poor Lauren looked miserable, and she was in labor for a full 24 hours before she finally went to the hospital.
As the Daily Mail pointed out, Lauren was dealing with back labor, which is notoriously very painful, so epidural it was -- but the first one didn't work, requiring her to have a second. As if having one needle placed into her spine wasn't enough!
Even then, she still said that her pain was an 8/10. Ugh. This whole thing sounds like a nightmare!
After that, doctors finally broke her water, and then the action began.
After a full 46 hours of labor -- almost two whole days, y'all -- Lauren finally gave birth to baby Bella ... and we can't imagine how relieved she must have been.
Fortunately, at the end of all of that, mom and baby were both healthy, which is what's most important, and Josiah and Lauren got to meet their little girl for the first time.
Lauren's maintained that this has been a tough experience for her from the beginning.
Not only did she and Josiah have to cope with the loss of their first pregnancy, but Lauren has been open about the fact that her pregnancy with Bella wasn't easy, either. But now, it's all over, and she has this beautiful baby girl to snuggle with.
So far, it appears this mama is doing just fine to us, although we do wish she'd been able to have a way more pleasant birth experience!
Lauren's a superstar for making it through that birth.
Welcoming new life into the world ain't easy, but she managed to handle it like a champ.
We're still sending so many congrats to Lauren and Josiah, and we can't wait to see more of their baby girl as she grows.
