Blake Lively Better Hope Ryan Reynolds' Baby Name Choice Is a Joke

Blake Lively, Ryan ReynoldsIs there anything more competitive in Hollywood than celebrity baby names? Frank Zappa may have named his daughter Moon Unit in the 60s, but I think we probably have Gwyneth Paltrow and little Apple to thank for the current trend toward unusual baby names for movie stars' kids.

That being said, it's hard to tell sometimes when Hollywood parents-to-be share their potential baby names before the little ones make their appearances. But please, oh please, let Ryan Reynold's baby name choices for his unborn child with Blake Lively be a joke. Please.

Canada's eTalk caught up with Reynolds recently, and asked if he's thought about baby names yet. The gorgeous couple announced earlier this month that they're expecting their first child together.

"On the plane over here I was trying to think of baby names," he admitted. "I don't want a name that's anything pretentious or, like, Hollywood-y. So I'm going with Excalibur Anaconda Reynolds ... that's if it's a girl."

Say whaaaaaat? It has to be a joke, right? But you never know these days -- heck, if Wyatt can be a girl, anything is possible.

Of course we really, really hope he is for sure joking about this next one ... the 37-year-old continued to reveal his name pick if it turns out they're having a boy. Are you ready for it? Bruce Jenner.

Ha! Well played, Ryan Reynolds, commenting on the absurdity of Hollywood baby names these days, as well as refusing to be nailed down to any particular name before the baby is born.

Looking back at Ryan and Blake's previous statements about parenthood, there's a good chance they'll have more than one opportunity to name their progeny. Both seem like they're eager to be parents of multiple children.

Lively showed off her baby bump on the red carpet shortly after announcing her pregnancy, and told E! News that she's always viewed herself in a motherly role. "I came from a big family ... a big family of Southerners," she said.

"I'm the youngest of five," she continued. "So I never raised any siblings below me, but I'm always the person who's taking everyone else's kid and putting them on my hip, so I've kinda always been a mama. So we'll see."

Last year, Reynolds made no secret of his desire for a big family either. He confessed to Details magazine, "We'd love to have a big family. We both come from big families -- my parents did four, Blake's did five. A lot of people say it's crazy, but we'll only know when we're there, you know? We'll walk through that fire pretty happily, I think."

Awww! So sweet. And hopefully none of them will be named Bruce Jenner.

Do you think Blake and Ryan will stick to something traditional when it comes to naming their baby?
