Michael Jordan & Wife Have BIG Baby News

Michael JordanBasketball legend and father of three Michael Jordan has just announced that not only is his wife of less than a year Yvette Prieto pregnant, she is pregnant with TWINS! Double congratulations to the family who is about to grow by two.

The two identical twin girls came as a surprise to fans who only heard on November 30 that Prieto, whom Jordan married in April, is pregnant. They will join his other three kids Jeffrey, 24, Marcus James, 22, and daughter Jasmine, 19 -- from his previous 17-year marriage with Juanita Venoy.

I am insanely (doubly!) happy for Jordan and his wife, but I don't envy them at all. I am about six weeks out from the birth of my third child, the first baby I've had in 5.5 years, and I would be lying if I didn't say I was completely terrified (I am). Jordan has had 19 years between these and his last one. And he is having two!

Now, of course, he has a lot more money than I do and can hire night nurses and nannies and all manner of help to get himself and his wife through the rough patches. Still, even with the best help in the world, those babies are his responsibility. Sounds like a lot of work.

All that said, identical twin girls are amazing, and even though he is older, at 50, his wife is only 34.

Sure, there will be sleepless nights (many of them) and baby accessories galore (times two), but being born with a ready-made sibling and the closeness they will share growing up just can't be beaten.

From the many friends I have with twins, I have learned that even though there are great difficulties, the closeness of the siblings is really the reward. These girls will grow up and always have each other. That's awesome. So, sure, I am quite certain there was shock all around when this news broke in the Jordan home, but hey, if kids keep you young, twins keep you double young. And Michael Jordan is not a legend for nothing. He can do it.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Would you be excited to have twins?
