Farrah Abraham Thinks Her 4-Year-Old Needs to Get a Life

farrah abrahamTeen Mom/porn star/pillar of the parenting community Farrah Abraham thinks her 4-year-old daughter Sophia needs "me" time. And not "me" time as in she needs to learn how to entertain herself when she's alone; "me" time as in sometimes the tot ought to just go out with a couple of her gal pals; have a leisurely juice-filled dinner; and maybe wake up in a ball pit somewhere with little recollection of what transpired the night before.

Okay, so that's not exactly how Farrah put it, but she did actually say: "It's healthy that we have a break. Sophia has her own life and is doing her own thing, and I'm doing mine."

What, Moms? Your toddler doesn't have their own life?

We all know that Farrah Abraham's parenting is something that no one should try at home, but this is one of the most asinine things I've ever heard. In fact, I actually LOL'd when I first read it. Who says this about their 4-year-old? It's something you say about your partner or your best friend. Not your toddler.

I'm all for letting children play alone once in a while. It isn't a parent's job to dance around like a monkey for their kids 24/7. In fact, I think it's good that children learn how to deal with boredom. But, when you're a parent of a toddler, you don't "do your thing" and your child "does theirs." I actually think some may refer to that philosophy as neglect. A 4-year-old needs their mother. Especially when they don't have a father.

She seems like a happy little girl, but sometimes my heart aches for little Sophia. Farrah is rarely seen with her, and her actions over the past year or so have set a pretty terrible example. And then she does and says something like this. Hopefully, Sophia won't get wind of it. Because having to have your own life at 4 is a lot of pressure.

What do you think of Farrah's comments?
