Jessica Simpson's Post-Baby Weight Loss Is Not Her First Priority (VIDEO)

jessica simpson eric maxwellEveryone seems to have an opinion on Jessica Simpson's postpartum weight loss plan -- even fellow celeb moms. Sadly, I'm sure there are those who have snarked about how she's got 70 pounds to lose, but fellow reality star and hot mama Kendra Wilkinson isn't one of them. She recently got chatty with Yahoo! OMG about Jessica's situation and defended her to the nth degree, discussing how must pressure Jess must be facing to drop the pounds and how she can relate.

She said, "I feel for her. I was in the same boat. People just need to mind their own business. That's a woman who just gave birth. Her first priority right now is her child. Her first priority is not losing the weight."

You go, girl!

She went on to say:

A lot of people just dump their kids off at nannies and lose the weight overnight. We should all be proud of her for being real and taking control and making priorities.

Yes! I absolutely love that she's calling other Hollywood types out on their vain post-baby slimming shenanigans. Of course, in most cases, it's necessary for people in their biz to get their bodies back ASAP so they can work again ASAP. But Jessica's not vying for roles like Daisy Duke anymore. She's got plenty going for her -- from her fashion lines to other merchandising and being a judge on Fashion Star -- that doesn't require her being a size 2 next week.

What's more, she may be a celeb whose voluntarily put her post-baby weight under a microscope thanks to her deal with Weight Watchers, but neither she nor we can't forget that she's also a NEW MOM. And she sure as hell is entitled to let that trump "speedy slimming!"

And if Jessica really is following WW to a tee -- as she claims to be on her Facebook page -- living and enjoying her new life while losing the weight shouldn't be a problem. That's what the program is supposed to be about. It's not a crash diet or a bizarro time-out from reality. The plan emphasizes everyday lifestyle changes that are meant to withstand all of life's major moments. In other words, it's the antithesis of the stereotypical celeb post-baby weight loss plan. And for keeping it real, when she could have gone the extreme Hollywood route, Jess definitely deserves a pat on the back.
