Bethenny Frankel Reveals Heartbreaking New Details About Her Miscarriage (VIDEO)

Bethenny FrankelBethenny Frankel revealed that she'd suffered a miscarriage back in February. Recently, however, she's talked more in depth about the pain and revealed details of her experience that made it particularly difficult.

On her new show, Bethenny, she recently said that for her, one of the most difficult parts of it all was that she'd always wanted Bryn to have a little sister. Then she found out "accidentally" from her doctor that the baby she'd lost was a girl, and it hit her even harder.

I fell to pieces. I was picturing Bryn with a little sister. Two little girls in rain boots.

No matter when a miscarriage happens, it's always hard. You start imaging that child and their life as soon as you see two lines on a pregnancy test. Knowing even more about him or her often amplifies the pain.

She also talked about how difficult it is to imagine what a miscarriage means unless you've been through it yourself.

I've honestly had women that I've been friends with in the past [tell me] they had a miscarriage. And I kind of didn't really understand, and I'd say, "I'm so sorry that's terrible." But not until you really go through it do you understand what it means. In your head, it's a person that could never be. You blame yourself as a woman.

Miscarriage is heartbreaking any way you look at it, and too often it's laced with plenty of shame and blame, even if it's mostly self-inflicted. Though we've come a long way, many women still don't talk about it and suffer silently, so as difficult as it may be, Bethenny's honesty about the topic is welcome and hopefully will help other women.

If you've had a miscarriage, do you find other women sharing their stories helpful?
