Word's out that Bristol Palin, America's favorite teen mom, has signed on with Single Source Speakers at $15,000 to $30,000 per lecture.

Whoa, that sort of blows her job in a physician's office out of the Alaskan waters.

Sure, teen moms everywhere need a good role model for success after facing an early and unexpected pregnancy. But is Bristol going to serve as such or is she just an overpriced bad example?

According to AP, Bristol Palin, 19, is listed on the speaking group's website as available for conferences, fundraisers, special events, and holidays, as well as women's, youth, abstinence, and "pro-life" programs.

Yeah, so I see what her message is going to be; however, how many sexually active teens are going to get the right message from Bristol Palin? I mean, isn't the message here: Look at me. I didn't abstain and I'm making a boatload of cash because of it?

Or maybe the message is: Teen motherhood ain't that bad. I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan, and do the speaker circuit -- all while being a teen mom!

And that's leaving out the obvious part about her celebrity family "connections" (mom Sarah Palin reportedly gets $100,000 plus airfare for her appearances).

Maybe we should, instead, be financing talks and lectures -- in amounts that are equal to or more than the annual salaries of many Americans -- from teen moms who don't or didn't always have it so good, whose lives don't look quite this easy. Maybe that's the message we should be paying for here because maybe that's the story that teen moms are facing more often in this country.

I guess it all depends on what message we're trying to get out to teen girls here.

Family attorney Thomas Van Flein said he believes Bristol's interested in expanding her message beyond teen pregnancy to include her experiences on the campaign trail and in the media spotlight; her parenting approach; and her outlook on life.

What do you think of Bristol Palin's newest cash cow? Is her message worth that kind of dough?
