14 Ways Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Are Normal Parents Just Like the Rest of Us
There are a lot of things we would call our dear Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, but normal certainly isn't one of them. These two are passionate, extremely driven, and, well, not to mention, royal. They are extraordinary to be sure, but when it comes to their parenting style, they couldn't be more normal. It's certainly hard to navigate the world of royal parenting, and even though Kate Middleton and Prince William have been doing it for more than six years, there is still a lot to be learned. New parents the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seem to be doing just fine, and they are certainly following in the Cambridge footsteps as far as being normal, non-royal parents goes.
Sure, they can't be 100% regular parents like everyone else due to their royal status and the unbelievable family expectations of the British monarchy, but they are certainly doing their best to raise their first son Archie Harrison in a fairly low-key way. From keeping him out of the spotlight to getting excited about receiving baby gifts, Meghan and Prince Harry are pretty much reacting how we would expect any new parents to react to welcoming their first kid into the world.
And even though they are following in Kate and Will's parenting footsteps, they aren't doing everything exactly the same. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are certainly trying to pave their own way as royal parents, and they are honestly doing this by being as normal as possible. They may be royalty, but their parenting style is coming up all commoner. So, here are all of the ways that Meghan and Harry are normal parents just like everyone else.
They Have a Nickname for Him
During a video of Meghan and Harry during their royal tour of Africa, and you can hear the duchess refer to Archie as "Bubba." Now, we don't know if royal parents have ever given their children nicknames, but we certainly think it's not a common thing.
They Are Super Protective
What parents aren't protective of their children? Meghan and Harry are really focusing on keeping the details of their family life to themselves, and we don't blame them! If they want to keep Archie mostly out of the spotlight, then that is completely up to them.
