All the Ways Archie Harrison Is Making His Mark on Royal History
When it comes to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, making royal history is just an average Tuesday afternoon for them. From being the first American to marry into the royal family to breaking all sorts of royal rules, Meghan Markle has been shaking up the world's most famous family, and now it looks like her son is doing the same. Ever since his birth (and even before), Archie Harrison has been quite the royal renegade, with a little help from his rock star parents. And this rule and protocol breaking is far from over. Archie is going to be breaking royal barriers for many years ... especially if Meghan and Harry have something to say about it.
Little Archie may only be less than a year old, but he's already making history in a major way. Apart from being a major member of the royal family, this little guy has parents that refuse to succumb to the pressures of public life or the criticism of naysayers. Because Meghan and Harry are paving their own way for their lives, we are going to guess that they are going to raise Archie to be the same way.
Because of this, he has a lot of royal rule breaking options ahead of him, and if we were betting people, we'd say that he's going to take the unbeaten path. Anything from going to school in the United States to possibly having a different accent from the rest of the royal family, means Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is a royal like we've never seen before.
He may only be an infant, but Archie is making waves. Still a nonbeliever? Well, here are all the ways that the first Sussex baby could make or already has made history. The list keeps growing!
He Might Have Dual Citizenship
With Meghan being American, it's not the craziest thing to expect Archie to qualify for dual citizenship. We're sure this is something that will be settled down the line, but how cool would it be to have another British/American member of the royal family?
He'll Bring in Some American Perspective
Again, because Meghan hails from the States, Archie isn't just going to grow up with British customs. He's going to learn some US sensibilities as well from his mom, and we think that's only going to make him an even better member of the royal family.
He Could Have No Title Whatsoever
As far as we know, Archie has no title yet, and he might not ever have a title. He could be the first royal baby to be born sans royal status, but that doesn't mean he's still not in line for the British throne. He's just going to be referred to as plain 'ol Archie.
He Might Pursue a Career Outside of the Family
It's also very possible that Archie has a career completely separate from the royal family all together. When we look at Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, they both pursued careers outside of the monarchy, so it's possible that Archie does the same.
He Could Go To University in the States
We have a good feeling that Meghan might do some encouraging and let Archie know that it's OK if he wants to go to a college in the United States. It's not really royal protocol that royals have to attend a school in the United Kingdom because, well, there's never been an American royal before.
He Was Announced Over WhatsApp
This is definitely a first! Prince Harry reportedly let some of the members of the royal family know about Archie's birth by sending them a message with WhatsApp. We just hope that's not how he let Queen Lizzie know.
He Is the Youngest Royal To Go on Tour
Archie is still less than 1 year old, and he's already been on a royal tour. Normally, the royals wait until a baby has celebrated at least one birthday before going on trips with the parents, but well, when have Meghan and Harry stuck to tradition?
He Started a New Branch in the Line of Succession
Because Archie is Harry's first child, that means that Archie has started a completely new branch in the line of succession for the throne. So, once Archie has children, they will start a completely new branch as well. It's all very complicated.
