He's headed home! We've been getting updates here and there about how Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino's prison sentence has been. But now, it seems it's finally come to an end. Mike was released from prison on Thursday after serving his eight-month sentence, and of course, his wife seems really excited to have him home again.

  • Back in January, Mike began his sentence for tax evasion after being indicted in September 2014.

It wasn't until 2017 that Mike and his brother Mark were charged with falsifying and structuring tax records. Aside from his prison sentence, Mike will also have to pay $10,000 in fines and perform 500 hours of community service -- so his restitution is far from over.

But as of September 12, his time has been served, so what comes next?

"We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life," Mike said in a statement to the outlet. "Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort. We look forward to continuing our life as husband and wife and working on baby Situations! We truly believe that the comeback is ALWAYS greater than the setback and we can't wait to show the world ours."

Mike's a free man and he's talking about baby Situations?!

    Fist pumps all around!

  • Mike's wife, Lauren, has already posted about the big day on Instagram.

She hasn't shared much so far, but Lauren did post this screenshot from Goodfellas, which basically says it all.

We can't imagine how excited Lauren must be. Since she and Sitch got married a couple of months before he began his sentence, they haven't really had time to live as newlyweds yet. This has to be such a special time for them both.

  • Fans seem elated that Mike has been freed.

Most commenters are thrilled for Mike now that he gets to put this chapter of his life behind him. Of course, tax evasion is never okay, but hopefully Mike has learned his lesson and can move on with a fresh start.

We can't wait to hear anything and everything he wants to share about his experience. He must have some stories ...

  • We hope Lauren and Mike are ready to celebrate with plenty of Funfetti cupcakes.

MTV cameras were rolling when Mike and Lauren finally got to reunite -- as well as when he saw his bros for the first time as a free man. This is an episode of Jersey Shore we will not want to miss.

Here's to Mike's life on the outside. We have a feeling things are only going to improve for him from here.
