The past couple of weeks have been a roller coaster for Britney Spears and her family ... and it doesn't seem like it's slowing down anytime soon. Following accusations that her dad, Jamie Spears, abused her son, Britney is now reportedly worried about losing custody of both of her boys to ex Kevin Federline -- as if she hasn't faced enough obstacles this year.
-
Earlier this week, news broke that Britney and Kevin's sons had been granted a temporary restraining order against their grandfather, Jamie.

According to TMZ, who originally shared the news, Kevin reported Jamie for abuse last month after a fight between Jamie and Sean Preston, 13, turned physical. Allegedly, Jamie broke down a door to get to Sean and then grabbed him, which led to Jamie being investigated by police.
This week, Sean and his younger brother, Jayden, 12, were granted a temporary restraining order against Jamie for their protection -- a move that Britney is reportedly supportive of, because she wants to keep her kids safe.

Now, Britney is worried that the incident could affect her custody of the boys.
Splash NewsA source told E! News that, right now, Britney is angry and feels as though her father may have put her in the tough position of losing all custody of her sons -- especially because the restraining order means that Jamie cannot act as the mandated supervisor when the kids are with Britney. This poses a problem because Jamie still has conservatorship over Brit.
"Britney is extremely anxious and paranoid about losing custody and she feels Jamie put her in jeopardy," the insider said.
Can't blame her for that. Britney must be feeling all kinds of emotions right now.

But despite what it could mean for Brit's future as a mom, she knows Kevin made the right choice.

"Britney was very upset with her dad and left with the boys," the source said. "She never wants Jamie to treat her boys the way he did or to get involved with disciplining them in that way."
And apparently, after the incident went down, Britney immediately told Kevin what happened, and he made the call to go to the authorities.
"Britney had to explain to Kevin what happened and he felt they had no choice but to go to the police. Kevin wants to protect his boys," the insider added.

Kevin and Britney recently solidified their current custody arrangement, splitting time with their boys 70/30.

As Us Weekly reported, Kevin has the boys the majority of the time, while Brit gets them 30 percent -- a big change from when they shared 50/50 custody last year. Reportedly, this is the way they've been splitting time for awhile now and the hearing just made it official.
After all that Britney has been through lately -- including entering treatment earlier this year for her mental health -- it makes sense that Kevin would be doing most of the heavy lifting these days. But hopefully, one day, Britney will be stable enough to spend more time with her kids.

It's hard to say what will happen for sure at this point, but we're hoping for the best.

It certainly sounds as if the restraining order was the right move for Britney and her fam, because Sean and Jayden's safety is what's most important.
Let's hope things settle down in the Spears-Federline universe soon.
