If there's one thing royal fans know, it's that certain media outlets love to make it seem like Meghan Markle is on the outs with some members of the royal family. Mostly, these reports focus on a supposed feud between Meghan and Kate Middleton, but on occasion there's talk of Queen Elizabeth snubbing Meghan, as well.

Currently, it's being speculated that the queen favors Kate over Meghan because she bestowed a particular honor unto Kate (as well as other women in the royal family) but has yet to give it to Meghan.

Let's discuss.

Despite the fact that it seems as though the queen has taken to Meghan, the duchess still does not have an honorary military appointment, which is given to most royals.-placeholder

Despite the fact that it seems as though the queen has taken to Meghan, the duchess still does not have an honorary military appointment, which is given to most royals.

The queen, Princess Anne, Princess Diana, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Kate Middleton all have such titles, with Kate's being honorary air commandant of the RAF Air Cadets.

The Air Cadets helps train 12- to 20-year-olds in flying, as well as outdoor and leadership skills -- so it's easy to see why Kate, who's passionate about young people, would hold such a position.

According to the Express, the reason Meghan doesn't hold the title may be because she simply hasn't expressed interest in having a military role.

After all, she's got a lot on her plate right now. In addition to barely being in the royal family for two years, she has a new baby and a ton of other responsibilities, most of which focus on social issues, environmentalism, and women’s leadership.

Who has time to add another appointment with all of that going on?!

Additionally, unlike Kate, Meghan is not yet a British citizen. Small detail.

Evidently, this can be a hurdle in gaining a British Armed Forces position -- especially if the Duchess of Sussex doesn't change her citizenship in the future.

Again, though, Meghan's got enough to tend to right now, so probably not worth analyzing the queen's feelings on her too much in regard to this.

In January of this year, she received four patronages from the queen, including the National Theater, The Mayhew, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, and Smart Works. Clearly, the queen has faith in her!

Unfortunately, there are people out there who love to pit Meghan against other members of the royal family.

But we're not buying it. Just because Kate has something from the queen and Meghan doesn't, it doesn't mean she's playing favorites.

Again, Meghan's barely been in the royal family two years. Give the woman some time. Sheesh.
