She's ruffling feathers again for seemingly putting on airs, this time for refusing to allow fans to take her picture while making an unexpected appearance at Wimbledon last week. Reports indicate that Meghan Markle's security team shut down anyone trying to take a cellphone photo of the Duchess of Sussex, as she was court-side in a "private" capacity.

  • Meghan made a surprise appearance at Court 1 at Wimbledon last Thursday, to cheer on her good friend Serena Williams.

It seems pretty innocuous, except that her security team reportedly stopped people from taking photos of her -- even when they were just trying to capture their own photos of the game. Ex-BBC star Sally Jones claims she didn't even know the duchess was there until she was asked not to take photos of her.

The 64-year-old former sports presenter claimed she became confused when a royal protection officer told her, "Would you not take photographs of the Duchess. She's here in a private capacity." She elaborated, "I felt this tap on my shoulder and was asked not to take pictures of the Duchess -- but I had no idea she was there until then. I was absolutely gobsmacked."

A royal source explained, "It's not uncommon for personal protection officers accompanying any members of the royal family to ask people not to take pictures so they can engage with people and events rather than camera phones."

  • Meghan was also criticized for taking up a large number of seats, which were left empty for her protection.

According to The Daily Mail, as many as 40 seats were kept empty around her, while a long line of VIPs (including members of the tennis club) had to wait outside the court for a seat. In contrast, Kate Middleton sat in the crowd when she made an unexpected appearance at Wimbledon last week. And the Duchess of Cambridge is the patron of the organization that puts on the prestigious annual tennis tournament.

  • As if people weren't upset enough with her already, Meghan also violated the Wimbledon dress code by wearing jeans.

A strict dress code is in place for the exclusive All England Club members' section where she was sitting, including a ban on denim. The organization reportedly declined to comment on the dress code, and only said the duchess was "perfectly well-dressed."

  • Meghan isn't helping herself when it comes to the public's perception of her.

We get that she wants her privacy, but there's a certain responsibility to be a public figure as a member of the royal family. If she wanted to watch the match privately, she could have stayed home. Otherwise, why take up so many seats when there were avid fans waiting to get in? Why wear blue jeans? Why send security around to ask people who weren't even taking her picture to stop taking her picture?

We're sure Meg is perfectly lovely, and she had her reasons ... it just doesn't look great is all.
