We've only known about Baby Sussex for over a day now, and this kiddo is already causing his parents to break all of the royal rules. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are overjoyed about the birth of their first child, and in true Sussex fashion, these two aren't paying too close attention to royal baby traditions. From where their son was born to the way it was announced to the public, Meghan and Harry are already doing things their own way.

  • First off, let's start with the labor and birth announcements.

Buckingham Palace released a statement saying that Meghan had gone into labor early in the morning, and then less than 20 minutes later, the Sussex Instagram account announced the birth of the royal baby boy. This means that the labor announcement was sent out after Meghan had already given birth.

With Kate Middleton's births, the announcements were made in more real time than the Sussex baby. The reason for the delay is unknown, but we're sure Meghan and Harry just wanted some time to celebrate and relax before the media frenzy began.

  • The new parents were also kept some of the key details off of the easel announcement placed outside Buckingham Palace.

The easel memo for Baby Sussex reads, "The Queen and the Royal Family are delighted at the news that Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 05:26am today. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."

In comparison, the easel announcements for all of the Cambridge kids included signatures from the doctors present for the births.

  • Next, Harry and Meghan snuck off to the hospital without telling the rest of the royal family.

It was rumored that Meghan might have chosen to give a home birth at Frogmore Cottage, but apparently that wasn't the case at all. The duchess was reportedly whisked away to a London hospital on Sunday night, and the couple did it so secretly that top officials of the royal family weren't even informed of the move.

Talk about throwing caution (and security) to the wind.

  • But even though Meghan ultimately decided a hospital birth was the way to go, it still didn't take place in the traditional Lindo Wing at St. Mary's.

Several royal women before her (such as Kate Middleton and Princess Diana) have given birth in the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital in London, but Meghan decided against it.

We still don't know exactly where Meghan ended up giving birth to her baby boy, so we suppose that's just another detail we can add to the list of things that the Sussexes are keeping a secret.

  • Meghan also said 'no thanks' to the typical post-birth photo op that the royal ladies have done since Princess Diana.

We were all hoping to see Meghan, Harry, and the new baby out on the steps of the hospital, but the duchess wasn't too keen on having to appear in front of the cameras just hours after giving birth.

    Understandable? Absolutely.

This post-birth photoshoot has been a tradition since Princess Diana had William, and Kate has done it for all three of her kids as well. Meghan, however, wasn't about it.

  • Little Sussex is only a little over a day old, and his parents are already breaking all of the royal baby rules.

Meghan and Harry have been royal trailblazers since their wedding, so we're honestly not the least bit surprised that they are making their own rules when it comes to their first child.

Rules are meant to be broken, right guys?
