Holy smokes ... it's finally happening, people! After being on pins and needles for days, Buckingham Palace has reportedly confirmed that Meghan Markle is in labor, which means Baby Sussex will be making his or her highly anticipated appearance any minute now. Meghan was rumored to be due sometime in late April or early May, and honestly, the suspense has been killing us over the past few weeks.

  • But let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet ...

Even though Meghan is in the midst of giving birth, we still might not hear any details about Baby Sussex for a few more days. The palace released a statement indicating that Harry and Meghan are forgoing tradition, and they will not publicly announce the birth of their baby until they've "had a chance to celebrate privately as a family."

After all, we've followed Meg's pregnancy every step of the way, and we were seriously hoping that she'd pull a Kate Middleton and pose with her newborn on the hospital steps (or outside Frogmore Cottage if she has a home birth) so we could ooh and ahh over her being all glammed up just hours after delivering.

But then again, Meghan and Harry are known for doing things their way, so it does seem fitting that they've opted to stay away from prying eyes, at least immediately following the birth.

  • We'll keep stalking the Sussex Royal Instagram account for the official news of the royal baby's arrival.
