The further we go down this rabbit hole, the crazier things get. Olivia Jade admits to attending college because of the "fear of missing out" (FOMO as the kiddos call it) that has critics less than enthused with the 19-year-old's confession.

Seriously, they're letting her have it.

  • To recap, Lori Loughlin, Olivia's mom, and many others are facing the music for their alleged involvement in a college admissions scam.

Though Lori was seen signing autographs and appearing in good spirits prior to her court date on Wednesday, Lori Loughlin is facing up to 20 years in prison (her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, too) for her alleged crimes.

Apparently, Lori and her husband paid $500,000 in bribes to make their daughters -- Isabella, 20, and Olivia Jade, 19 -- look like recruits on the USC crew team. (Someone also filled out Olivia Jade's college application for her as she was reportedly confused by the whole thing.) She reportedly didn't think the crime was a "huge deal," though it very much appears to be serious as felt she was doing what she could to provide her daughters a good opportunity.

  • And it appears Olivia wanted to go to college in fear she would miss out on having fun.

"A lot of my friends didn't finish high school or go to college just because they were so focused on [having YouTube careers], which I also think is really great, but I feel like I would have had weird FOMO not going to college if all my best friends from high school went and were, like, texting me, telling me how it was, all the parties, schoolwork, everything," Olivia Jade confessed on the Zach Sang Show about her FOMO with college days before the scandal broke.

"I would be like, 'What am I missing out on?'"

  • In fact, it seems Lori and her husband had to convince their daughter to go to school in the first place.

"I'm so happy they made me go. That sounds terrible. They didn't make me go," Olivia joked. "My sister, [Bella, 20], goes to the same school and we're pretty much inseparable, so it was nice following in her footsteps a little bit. But I do like it. It's cool."

That sounds like $500,000 well spent.

    (*Insert sarcasm*)

  • Needless to say, folks are over it ... so so over it.

The reaction to Olivia's college confession has been ... less than positive.

... and that's putting it mildly.

  • Given Olivia's privilege, are people expecting too much from her?

We're not trying to be rude, but Lori's daughters definitely seem as if they were raised with a silver spoon. And given this former Hallmark star paid half a million to get her kids into school, it's not that far off to assume her girls are out of touch with how the rest of society lives.
