Few things are better than falling in love, but sometimes, love sucks -- especially if that love involves a celebrity couple that crumbles in a very, very public breakup. Even if someone is doing the dumping, the end of the a relationship can be pretty rough, and we can imagine it's even worse if the entire world wants to know the details. Though Hollywood has given us plenty of love stories to gush over, it's also given us devastating breakups that make us question if love even existed in the first place. In 2019 alone, so many celebs have called it quits, that we don't even know if #RelationshipGoals is a thing anymore!

While a breakup or a divorce has to be harder for the people who are actually in the relationships, it's hard for the rest of us who've felt invested in these couples from the first time they were spotted in public by the paparazzi. It's almost like finding out that two best friends have decided to call it quits -- and yes, there is definitely a time to take sides.

(Hey, it happens!)

We will admit that as much as we love gushing over celebrity love stories, the drama of the breakups -- especially the ones that come with juicy gossip -- is just as fun to follow. So far this year, there has been plenty of that ... and we have a feeling there's a lot more where that came from before the year is over, because it's already been a turbulent time for relationships.

Here are some of the most heartbreaking celebrity breakups of 2019 so far. We might not even be halfway through the year yet, but there have already been so many splits.

Are any of our favorites safe? Guess we'll just have to cross our fingers and find out.
