It isn't every day Kensington Palace responds to gossip, but over the weekend, a spokesperson called a story about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reported by Vanity Fair "totally false." Apparently, they have their limits when it comes to gossip about Baby Sussex.

  • A supposed royal insider told Vanity Fair that, when it comes to raising her child, Meghan wants to keep things as neutral as possible.

“Meghan has been talking to some of her friends about the birth and how she and Harry plan to raise their baby," the source said. "Her exact word was fluid. She said they plan to raise their child with a fluid approach to gender and they won’t be imposing any stereotypes.”

  • The palace, though? They're not having this gossip.

  • According to Hello!, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace said: "This story is totally false."

Meghan is progressive and it's been reported that both she and Prince Harry want to steer clear of gender stereotypes -- i.e., they're decorating the nursery in whites and grays to stay away from the traditional pink and blue clichés -- so maybe this is just gossip gone too far?

Whatever it is, it's obviously crossed a line for the royal family.

  • Meghan is reportedly due in April, so she doesn't have much longer to go. Hopefully for her sake, the baby gossip will slow down a bit in her final months.

If we're being totally honest, though, it's unlikely. Meghan has been pursued relentlessly throughout her pregnancy. From reports that she's a diva to criticism about her star-studded baby shower, the poor woman can't catch a break! Although Kate Middleton suffered from extreme morning sickness with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the Duchess of Cambridge dealt with a quarter of the commentary during her pregnancies that Meghan is facing. We seriously don't know how Meghan is managing.

Pink, blue, neutral, gender fluid -- who cares? Just let the duchess live her life in peace.
