Welp, it looks like another couple joined the growing list of celebrity breakups. In case ya haven't heard the news, Lady Gaga and her fiancé called off their engagement. And of course, the recent revelation has a number of people wondering if the singer-actress will look to couple up with her A Star Is Born costar Bradley Cooper.

... because, of course.

  • Lady Gaga and Christian Carino are officially over.

E! News reports the couple confirmed their split, noting Christian was "desperately trying to get back together." Carino was noticeably absent during the Grammys with Gaga spotted not wearing her massive pink engagement ring. An unnamed source claims the relationship "just didn't work out" and that "it's not a long dramatic story."

People notes Lady Gaga confirmed her romance with Christian back in February 2017, roughly seven months after she and actor Taylor Kinney called off their engagement. Gaga and Christian made headlines in October after news surfaced they got engaged.

  • And of course, that *must* mean she's making herself ready for Bradley Cooper.

Bradley and Gaga turned heads in the 2018 A Star Is Born remake (Bradley produced and directed the romantic drama) about a love story between a country star (and struggling addict) and an up-and-coming singer.

  • Gaga and Bradley's chemistry is truly undeniable.

People lost their wigs seeing Bradley Cooper join Lady Gaga on stage during one of her Vegas performances. The pair sang their hit song "Shallow" that fueled speculation these costars are having an affair.

  • And people who love A Star Is Born are crossing their fingers Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper will officially become an item.

Judging by this reaction, it's safe to say folks love seeing these two together and want art to imitate life.

... minus the sad ending in A Star Is Born. (We won't give any spoilers away.)

  • Others, however, aren't here for it.

Just because two people have chemistry on screen does not mean they're meant to be in real life -- or that they'll get along, for that matter, should they decide to date. A number of people who starred alongside each other (Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, and Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan to name of couple of stars) tried to translate things into real life and didn't get their happily ever after for all of eternity (at least not with each other).

  • ... because he's spoken for.

Bradley Cooper has been dating Russian model Irina Shayk since 2015. The hot pair welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper, in March 2017.

  • Do people really want to break up a happy home for the sake of a fantasy?

We truly hope Lady Gaga finds happiness ... but that doesn't mean we want her knocking on Bradley's door (we highly doubt she would) to see if he'd be interested in leaving his longtime girlfriend to sing sweet music together -- romantically speaking -- in real life.

Yes, they have chemistry together, but if ya want to see it, go watch the movie.
