Meghan Markle Is Guest-Editing British 'Vogue' -- & She's Doing It Her Way
Well, if this isn't set to be a best-seller, what is? Us Weekly is reporting that Meghan Markle is guest-editing British Vogue for the magazine's most important issue -- the September issue. And in true Duchess of Sussex fashion, she's not just putting her name in the masthead -- she's dusting off her editorial chops for the gig and getting down and dirty.
In, you know, a stylish way.
Sources told Us that Meghan plans on being more than a figurehead for Vogue's massive fall fashion issue -- she wants to actually effect change through the magazine.
"Meghan will be writing an opinion piece of her own as well as bringing a selection of female change-makers on board to write their own personal essay," a source revealed.
Love that! Also, can't say we're surprised. The Duchess of Sussex rarely is one to do things for the sake of appearances.
And as if that wasn't exciting enough, get this: New photos of the duchess will also be featured in the issue.
According to Us, Meghan will be appearing in “new photos that haven’t been taken yet” for the issue. Evidently, a photo shoot is taking place at her home, Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor next week!
So far, no word on whether or not little Archie will be featured in the magazine alongside Meghan, but if we had to guess, we'd say "no."
Meghan, after all, has never been one to define herself by specific roles in her life. We're assuming that, even though she's just become a mum, she still has many other aspects of her life that she wants to focus on -- including her philanthropy and overall world vision.
Back in 2017, before she was engaged to Prince Harry, Meghan appeared in Vanity Fair.
In her interview, she talked about life, love, and the public's general perception.
“I can tell you that at the end of the day I think it’s really simple,” she said in the piece. “We’re two people who are really happy and in love. We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news, and I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people’s perception. Nothing about me changed. I’m still the same person that I am, and I’ve never defined myself by my relationship.”
It's unlikely that she'll be as candid now, being that she's officially a royal. But if anyone is going to deliver something worth reading, it's Meghan.
Can't wait to see what the duchess has to say -- and of course, see the gorgeous photos.
