Sounds like there was a bit of drama involving Meghan Markle, a tiara, and Queen Elizabeth before the royal wedding in May. According to reports, the Queen had to have words with Prince Harry about Meghan's attitude regarding her choice of tiara, and if it's true, the whole thing sounds rather intense.

  • According to a royal insider, Meghan didn't end up with her first choice of tiara on her wedding day.

According to The Sun, "Meghan had her heart set on this tiara with emeralds and Prince Harry hit the roof when they were told it was impossible for her to wear it." Apparently, the emeralds may have originated in Russia and therefore would've been inappropriate to wear.

"There was a very heated exchange that prompted the Queen to speak to Harry," the insider claimed. "She said, 'Meghan cannot have whatever she wants. She gets what tiara she's given by me.'"

  • The Queen apparently also didn't approve of Meghan wearing a veil as part of her bridal look.

The source continued, "The Queen also questioned why Meghan needed a veil for the wedding, given it was to be her second marriage," and even added, "Meghan can be difficult. She has very high standards and is used to working in a Hollywood environment."

Sounds to us like this insider thinks Meghan is used to having things her way and hasn't been happy about having a slew of royal rules to follow. The insider also said, "The message from the Queen was very much Meghan needed to think about how she speaks to staff members and be careful to follow family protocols."

  • It isn't the first time we've heard Meghan was a "difficult" bride.

According to the Daily Mail, royal biographer Robert Jobson wrote in his book Charles at Seventy: Thoughts, Hopes and Dreams, that Harry was basically a royal terror to staff members leading up to the wedding, and it was all because Meghan wanted things a certain way.

Although we don't have many details, insiders said that Harry raised his voice more than once to exclaim, "What Meghan wants, she gets!" He and Meghan reportedly also booked several acupuncture appointments with famed "acupuncturist to the stars" Ross Barr to deal with all the stress.

  • Of course, it's a bit hard to believe Meg was such a bridezilla with how well she gets on with Harry's family.

Meghan has even attended several events with Queen Elizabeth, something Kate Middleton didn't even do until nearly a year after her own wedding with Prince William.

As for the tiara, Meghan opened up about the choice during an audio commentary for the new "Relive the Royal Wedding" exhibition at Windsor Castle. She said, "When it came to the tiara on the day, I was very fortunate to be able to choose this gorgeous art deco style bandeau tiara. Harry and I had gone to Buckingham Palace to meet with Her Majesty the Queen to select one of the options that were there, which was an incredibly surreal day as you can imagine. And that was the one that, I think, as we tried them on, stood out."

Sounds like she ended up with the perfect tiara, and we're taking any bridezilla reports with a grain of salt.
