This Is Why Prince William Is Rarely Seen Holding Princess Charlotte
In the past, we've wondered why Prince William is with Prince George so much, while Kate Middleton always seems to be paired with Charlotte. As it turns out, there's a royal reason for the foursome's tendency to couple off -- and it has nothing to do with playing favorites.
Parenting expert Jasmine Peters recently told the "Daily Mail" that the move is likely deliberate and shows the Cambridges lining their eldest up for his role as future King of England.
Additionally, in royal families, fathers are often the disciplinarians. "Fathers are typically responsible for the disciplinary actions, redirection, protection and provision of the family," Peters said. "It is not uncommon to see a father with his son to set the foundation of what his role and responsibilities will be in life with a family. It is often believed that it takes a man to raise a boy to be a man. If you look at the pictures it clearly reflects this common belief."

Additionally, Kate's tendency to be with Charlotte and William's tendency to be with George could just be a matter of wanting to create strong same-sex bonds.
"Yes, it could reflect that Kate and William are traditional, but it also reflects the importance of the bond created between father and son and mother and daughter that they both treasure and hold dearly as responsible and loving parents," Peters said.
"The couple are clearly loving parents who understand the importance of a strong mother-daughter and father-son bond," she added.
