Why Prince Louis Was a No-Show at Princess Eugenie's Wedding

On Friday, Princess Eugenie wed Jack Brooksbank in a stunning daytime wedding. (Royals really do do it better.) Although the affair wasn't quite as lavish as Kate Middleton and Prince William's wedding or the nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it did have some particularly adorable guests. Prince George and Princess Charlotte reprised their roles as pageboy and bridesmaid for the big day, but Prince Louis was noticeably absent from Eugenie's wedding. Where was the little guy?

  • Per usual, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and the rest of the littlest royals stole the show.

How sweet is this little gang?! And it looks like they're all having a blast to boot.

  • But don't think we didn't notice that the tiniest royal -- Prince Louis -- wasn't there. Where was he?

According to People, Louis was likely at home in the trusted care of one of William and Kate's staffers. Typically, the family nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo helps out with George and Charlotte, so the duke and duchess have probably hired extra help since the birth of their third.

  • Although we're never ones to pass up an opportunity to see Prince Louis, we totally get why he stayed home.

    A fancy royal wedding isn't exactly a place for a 5-month-old.

  • The last time we saw Prince Louis was back in July at his christening when he was just 3 months old -- but we're probably going to catch another glimpse very soon.

Louis will be 6 months old this month, and, historically speaking, William and Kate have always released photos of their children at that age. Fingers crossed they'll do it again! Also, Prince Charles will be 70 in November and there's been talk of a big celebration -- so maybe we'll see Louis then, too?

Even though we're sad we didn't get to see Louis paraded around in a tiny pageboy outfit, we totally get it. No wedding is an ideal setting for a baby. And with him tucked snuggly in his crib at home and George and Charlotte's nanny on hand, hopefully Kate and William got to have a little fun.
