Even stars get starstruck on occasion. In her new book, A-lister Reese Witherspoon opened up about the time she met Kate Middleton shortly after her wedding with Prince William, and let's just say that Reese is all of us should we get a chance to meet the duchess.

  • Reese wrote about her 2011 meeting with the Duchess of Cambridge in her new book, Whiskey in a Teacup.

She said that she had become "relatively immune from the obsession with the royals" but that the prospect of meeting Kate Middleton turned all that coolness on its head. Reese detailed what happened when she received an invitation to Launch of Tusk Trust’s US Patron’s Circle in Santa Barbara, California, during the royal couple's first official International tour together.

"The scream that issued from my lips upon receiving [the invitation] -- you would have thought I was going to die," the 42-year-old mom of three wrote. "I wake up early, mind you, but on that day I was up at 4 a.m. doing my hair. That's early, even for me."

  • She said that her husband, Jim Toth, couldn't get over how excited she was by the invitation.

Reese wrote, "'I've never seen you this excited,' my husband said. He wasn't kidding." She added, "Jim took pictures of me in the car. You can see rays of happiness shooting out of my face. I love Kate Middleton that much. And she did not disappoint!"

  • Apparently Kate is just as magnificent as we thought.

Reese detailed the experience, writing, "She was just lovely and warm, elegant and composed. She also told a joke, and I immediately fell under her spell. She's just as magnificent as she seems to be. She's a very compassionate, socially conscious, deeply caring person."

Ugh, now we want to meet her even more!

  • Reese also commended Kate for choosing to live such a public life for the sake of love.

She explained, "It takes a very special person to decide to commit to that kind of life, to choose to be under public scrutiny every moment. Now that she's in that position, her entire life is in service, forever. I am so in awe of that kind of dedication."

We have a feeling she thinks it's worth it. After all, have you seen the way she and Prince William look at each other? Now that's love.
