It's been a few weeks since Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was arrested after reportedly getting physical with on-again, off-again girlfriend, Jen Harley, in California. And now, we have an update on what happens next for this Jersey Shore star. Apparently, Ronnie is facing a whopping five misdemeanor charges, so it seems there's still a long road ahead of him before he can put this incident to rest.

Earlier this month, Ronnie was arrested after police arrived on the scene of his fight with Jen.

At the time, TMZ reported that Ronnie allegedly punched and slapped Jen -- even supposedly chasing her back into the house with a knife while she was holding their daughter, 16-month-old Ariana. Police had to tase Ronnie to get him in their custody, and he was checked out at a hospital before being transported to jail.

It was obviously a super scary situation -- one that led to Jen getting an emergency protective order -- and it's not over yet.

Ronnie is facing a multitude of charges after dodging a felony domestic violence charge.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Ronnie managed to escape a felony charge and instead ended up with five misdemeanors: one count of domestic violence, one count of brandishing a weapon or a firearm, one count of child endangerment, one count of resisting arrest, and one count of criminal threats.

This could lead to some serious jail time for Ron -- it's not looking good.

Ronnie's lawyer has since issued a statement, calling everything that's being reported "exaggerated."

"The facts and circumstances around Ronnie's arrest have been misreported and exaggerated, like we mentioned in the past," his lawyer said to ET. "We are happy the district attorney’s refused to file any charges and we look forward to addressing this matter with city attorney; until then, we will make no further comment."

Hmm ... this definitely isn't looking good.

Whatever happens next, we hope Ronnie stays out of trouble until then.

This whole ordeal is far from over, and we could end up actually seeing him serve time -- it's such a sad situation.

In the meantime, we hope Jen and Ariana are staying safe. It's hard to say what the truth is about this tough situation, but we hope everyone involved gets the help they need to get through this.
