Welp, it appears we have movement in this child support battle ... and it ain't pretty. A judge ordered Britney Spears to pay Kevin Federline over $100,000 amid the background-dancer-turned-DJ's quest for additional child support. To say this new ruling turned heads would truly be an understatement as the interwebs are all sorts of hot and bothered about the whole ordeal.

  • New court documents reveal Britney must write a check to her ex-husband for $110,000.

E! News reports $100,000 will go toward Kevin Federline's "legal costs and fees," with the remaining $10,000 going to the Benchmark Resolution Group, a dispute resolution services company.

The outlet also notes the dad of six filed documents back in May requesting Britney Spears "cover his attorney's fees incurred to date and future fees anticipated to be no less than $250,000 and $100,000 for forensic accounting fees, in addition to requesting an increase in child support."

  • "This was an initial contributive payment," Mark Vincent Kaplan, Kevin's attorney, told E! News about the ruling.

    Kevin Federline's attorney continues:

"If Britney and the conservators continue to fight tooth and nail about turning over any financial information, this will not be the last fee order they're ordered to pay me on Kevin's behalf. It's puzzling why they're putting so much energy into fighting the disclosure of her finances but I'm not deterred. We will get there eventually, it's just a question of how much they want to cost themselves creating speed bumps on the road to the ultimate destination."

  • Kevin and Britney started making headlines back in March when he requested a bump in the $20,000 monthly child support he receives for their sons.

Rejecting Britney's camp's child support offer, Kevin's attorney once claimed he didn't want to go to court to get additional money for their sons, Sean, 12, and Jayden, 11, "out of respect for Britney" but obviously had a change of heart.

"We gave them ample time and opportunity to settle Kevin’s child support modification increase," Mark Vincent Kaplan told Us Weekly about the decision to serve the pop star a subpoena for additional child support. Kev's lawyer believes he deserves "at least three times the amount" of child support he's receiving as his income is allegedly only $3,000 a month from DJing.

"My income has changed significantly since the child support was last modified in approximately 2008 because I no longer earn a six-figure income like I did in 2008," Kevin declared in a statement about needing more money, The Blast reported. "I am no longer able to perform as a dancer due to my age, and I have not been as successful in putting out new music as I was in 2008. I am simply less of a 'name' and less in demand than I was in 2008, which has negatively affected my income."

In addition to Sean and Jayden, Kevin has four other children: Jordan, 7, and Peyton, 4, with wife Victoria Prince, and Kori, 16, and Kaleb, 14, with ex Shar Jackson.
  • And with Britney being a "no-show" at their child support deposition, time will have to tell how this all plays out.

"The deposition was properly served, and there were costs incurred for the preparation of the deposition, which need to be paid for," a source exclusively told Radar Online about Britney's absence at the deposition. (She's currently on a world tour.) "Kaplan will be filing a motion to compel the testimony of Spears co-conservators, and possibly Britney. This is for a judge to decide, and it will be left at that."

Still, Britney's lawyers are fighting her ex as they don't think it's necessary for her to appear.

  • As you can imagine, the Internet has more than a few feelings about the matter and people are sounding off.

  • A number of peeps feel Kevin needs to "get a job" and is using their kids to milk Brit for more money.

  • Yeah, we'll have to wait and see about this one.

Hopefully they can come to some understanding for the sake of their children.
