And so the plot thickens. Reports are surfacing that Britney Spears skipped her child support deposition that could spell trouble as her ex Kevin Federline is determined to get more child support than the $20,000 a month he's currently receiving from the pop princess.

  • Kevin Federline reportedly rejected Britney and her camp's child support offer after accusing her of not paying enough.

"All Kevin wants to be able to do is provide the same standard of living the boys have when they with Britney," a source once explained to Us Weekly about Kevin's desire for more child support. "Sean and Jayden's needs are of course changing since they are getting older, which is a major factor in the decision to seek the increase."

Mark Vincent Kaplan, Kevin's attorney, believes Federline deserves "three times" more in child support than he receives. "We gave them ample time and opportunity to settle Kevin's child support modification increase," Kaplan exclusives told Us Weekly about Kevin Federline's battle.

"This is the choice they have made, and they will now have to deal with it. We are still open to try and settling this without judicial intervention .... A court hearing will be set, and the parties will engage in financial discovery, which will enable guideline support payment that Kevin should receive. This won’t be difficult for us, Kevin is asking for the reasonable needs of the children to be met, which is at least three times the amount Kevin is currently getting. This is based on her earnings which have been publicly reported. We are also asking for attorney’s fees because it didn’t have to come to this."

  • As a result, Kevin filed court documents back in May in effort to get more money.

"Her lawyer, Laura Wasser, accepted the subpoena on Britney's behalf," an insider confessed to Us about Kevin's move to get more support. "The subpoena also included financial discovery, including Britney's most recent tax returns, and a completed income and expense declaration."

  • And it appears there was a deposition on the books that both Britney and her father missed, possibly presenting issues down the road.

Radar Online exclusively reports Britney and Jamie Spears, the celeb single mom's father and conservator, were "no-shows" at the deposition that likely has Kevin Federline's camp less than happy.

"The deposition was properly served, and there were costs incurred for the preparation of the deposition, which need to be paid for," an unnamed insider told Radar about the incident. "Kaplan will be filing a motion to compel the testimony of Spears co-conservators, and possibly Britney. This is for a judge to decide, and it will be left at that."

  • Seeing as Brit just kicked off her Piece of Me tour, maybe she'll get a little bit of grace?

Britney embarked on her new tour July 12 in Washington DC that could be a reason why she was a no-show at the deposition. But given Britney Spears's net worth, and how much it continues to grow, something tells us this custody battle is far from over.
