In today's world, couples no longer have to walk down the aisle -- or rush to have a shotgun wedding -- before having a child. But that doesn't mean folks won't side-eye pairs who stay together for a period of time with no plans of saying "I do" in the near future. Dwayne Johnson is in no "rush" to get married to the mother of his two youngest children ... and my is it causing a bit of controversy.

  • The Rock and his girlfriend, Lauren Hashian, have been together since 2007.

People notes they met back in 2006 and started dating a year later. They're proud parents of two daughters, Jasmine, 2, and Tia, 2 months.

  • They're very much in love with each other, but that doesn't mean a certain celeb dad is ready to walk down the aisle anytime soon.

The Rock caught some backlash after sharing this pic of him feeding Lauren while she breastfed their youngest daughter.

  • "I just refer to her as my wife all the time. So a lot of people are like, 'Oh, did you get married?'" The Rock told Entertainment Tonight.

"I'm like, 'No. Easy. Don't rush big daddy," Dwayne Johnson explained, hinting he's not ready to get married.

  • The Rock isn't necessarily afraid of getting hitched as he's been married before.

Dwayne and his ex-wife Dany Garcia (to the left of him in the pic) said "I do" back in 1997. The once couple have a 16-year-old daughter named Simone together and officially called it quits in 2007. Their relationship is obviously amicable as Dany is The Rock's current manager and producing partner.

  • And my is his unwillingness to marry Lauren (at least for now) causing quite the stir.

  • A number of critics can't help but call out The Rock for having kids with his girlfriend and not officially making her his wife.

  • If these two are truly happy and in love, does it really matter if they're married?

Better yet, whose business is it?
