Kim Kardashian Called a 'Toxic Influence' After Promoting Appetite Suppressants on Instagram

Kim Kardashian is dealing with some issues due to a photograph she took with a lollipop. But it's not just any lollipop -- and certainly not one for the kids. This lollipop is an appetite suppressant from the company Flat Tummy, and Kim was promoting it amongst all her gorgeous photos of herself on Instagram. Fans have been calling her out about it, and one star took the whole thing one step further.

  • The Good Place star Jameela Jamil had some choice words for Kim.

Via Twitter, Jameela Jamil shared the images of Kim that were on Instagram and replied, "No. F**k off. No. You terrible and toxic influence on young girls. I admire their mother's branding capabilities, she is an exploitative but innovative genius, however this family makes me feel actual despair over what women are reduced to."

  • The anger didn't stop there.

Jamil continued writing, "MAYBE don’t take appetite suppressors and eat enough to fuel your BRAIN and work hard and be successful. And to play with your kids. And to have fun with your friends. And to have something to say about your life at the end, other than 'I had a flat stomach.'"

Some of Kim's fans also had the same sentiment as Jamil. Hollywood Life reported that there were comments like, "Are you sick? Appetite suppressant lollipops. I know y'all will do anything for money but capitalizing off of a product designed to encourage disordered eating sICK" and "This is dreadful. You should be ashamed of yourself. I don't follow you but when I read about this I needed to comment. Think of all the young girls that look up to you!! Please start to do some good with the platform you have…"

One fan suggested that Kim should delete the post. She heeded that advice. The controversial Instagram photo of Kim sucking on the lollipop has since been removed from her Instagram account.

  • But evidence remains that even Kourtney Kardashian supports the company.

Back in February, Kourtney was promoting Flat Tummy's weight loss shakes without much pushback. But it seemed to be the lollipop promotion by Kim that made people the most angry.

  • People do look up to Kim, and she seems to recognize that.

The deletion of the post by Kim seems to point to the fact that she doesn't want anyone to think she is promoting something harmful to anyone. She must recognize her influence on people, particularly young women, and perhaps she thought twice about her decision to share that photo with all her followers.

Maybe this is Kim's way of admitting she made a bad decision.
