Onward and upward. On Monday, just five days before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding, it was revealed that Meghan's mom Doria Ragland quit her job. Ragland, who raised Meghan as a single parent, has been working at a mental health clinic in Los Angeles for years, but she made the decision to leave in order to pursue a dream of her own.

  • A source told Us Weekly that Ragland recently decided to leave her longtime job in order to open a practice of her own.

"Doria is no longer working at the mental health clinic in the Los Angeles area. It was Doria’s decision to leave," the source said. "She has talked about starting her own private practice, focusing on working with elderly patients."

  • Meghan and her mother have always been incredibly close, so no doubt Meghan is supportive of her mom's decision.

  • News of Ragland's career change came on the same day it was reported that Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, wouldn't be attending the royal wedding.

Thomas is reportedly having heart surgery on Wednesday, so he won't be able to make it to the big day. Of course, many are suspecting the real reason Thomas isn't going is because it was revealed he staged paparazzi photos in order to paint himself in a better light (than the image the media created of him).

  • Only a few more days to go until the royal wedding! Hopefully, all of the last-minute changes aren't rattling Meghan too much.

If we were the betting kind, we'd say she's just fine. Just a couple million people eagerly anticipating your big day and reading about your family's every move -- no pressure there, right?
