It won't be long now! We woke up to the news this morning that Kate Middleton arrived at St. Mary's Hospital in London, where she is reportedly in the "early stages" of labor with her third royal baby. The Palace confirmed the news in a statement earlier today, saying, "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London earlier this morning in the early stages of labor."

  • According to the statement, she traveled by car to the hospital along with Prince William.

And it happened in the wee hours of the morning -- before 6:00 a.m. London time. Man. This third little royal child certainly isn't wasting any time getting Mum and Dad out of bed.

  • Did we mention that the news of the impending birth came via Twitter? How very modern.

  • And now we wait ...

We aren't the only ones who are on pins and needles awaiting William and Kate's big news. Kensington Palace shared this photo of the media camped out in front of the hospital, where several royal fans have also set up shop. Some of them have reportedly been camping outside of the hospital for a couple of weeks now. Talk about dedication.

  • Back in October, the Palace confirmed that Kate's due date was sometime in April.

Oddly enough, there were rumors that Kate would give birth on April 23, today, which also happens to be St. George's Day, the patron saint of England's feast day.

We can't predict just how long it will take George and Charlotte's new sibling to make his or her entrance, but we'll be keeping a close eye on things and anxiously awaiting the big announcement. So far this Monday morning is off to a very exciting start!
