Congrats are in order! Kate Middleton has given birth to her third royal baby. Kensington Palace announced the news via Twitter, and after months of wondering, we finally know that Prince George and Princess Charlotte have a ... little brother!

  • Here's the official announcement:

Awww ... a son! I guess we shouldn't be all that surprised, considering it was predicted and highly speculated that Kate would have a boy

  • The bulletin announcing the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's son has also been placed in front of Buckingham Palace.

Kate and William may be a modern couple, but this is a long-standing royal birth tradition

  • Prince William and Kate Middleton decided to give the announcement of their third child's birth a millennial spin.

While it's still royal tradition that Queen Elizabeth be informed of the royal birth before anyone else, Will and Kate decided to spread the happy news as quickly as possible this time, with the help of social media. They launched a website for the royal third baby, which the birth announcement was quickly posted to, in addition to the Palace's Twitter post.

  • We don't know the name yet, but this little one already has quite the title.

Before this little guy was born, Town & Country reported that the new prince will be called "His Royal Highness Prince (name) of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland."

Of course, since his parents are a royal duke and duchess, he will be styled as, "His Royal Highness Prince (name) of Cambridge."

  • Kate gave birth at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's hospital, the same place she had both Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The hospital began barricading things off earlier this month in anticipation of the big day. After all, they had to make sure all their security protocols were in place to keep the royal family and their privacy protected.

Kate actually broke royal tradition by deciding to give birth in the hospital, as custom dictates that royals give birth at Buckingham Palace. Princess Diana was the first to break the "rule," when she gave birth to Prince William, and then Prince Harry, at the Lindo Wing as well. We kind of love that Kate followed in her late mother-in-law's footsteps, to be honest.

  • Congrats to Will, Kate, George, Charlotte, and the entire royal family.

We're going to miss Kate's adorable bump, but we're looking forward to watching these three kiddos grow up together. But first, we're dying to hear what name they've picked out. We'll just be over here refreshing our social media feeds every three minutes.
