With so much talk about Tori Spelling in the headlines -- and whether or not she's suffering from a mental breakdown, or if her marriage to Dean McDermott is in trouble -- there's one question people can't help but ask: What the heck is going on with her finances? Speculation that Tori is "going broke" continues to grow, with many rolling their eyes at the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star and the silver spoon she had growing up as Aaron Spelling's daughter. But as with all things, looks just might be deceiving.

TheRichest.com estimates her net worth to be around the tune of $10 million.

That's a lot of Donna Martin originals!

But contrary to popular assumptions, Tori *isn't* rolling in the dough.

Her mom, Candy Spelling, once opened up about Tori Spelling's finances, revealing to the New York Times that her daughter didn't receive a big inheritance because of her wild spending habits. "[Tori] would close a store and drop $50,000 to $60,000," the Spelling matriarch once revealed. "I never did anything like that. She just went crazy."

As a result, Tori only received $800,000 after her father's death, which is definitely a lot of coins to most, but a fraction of the 90210 and Melrose Place producer's $600 million fortune.

While there's no word on Tori's salary as Donna Martin on "Beverly Hills, 90210," it's safe to say that money didn't last.-placeholder

That show did had some amazing heartthrobs.

In 2014, a source told E! News that Tori and Dean had "gone through $18 million since they've been together."

That year, the mom of five's money woes came to light during an episode of her True Tori reality show in which Tori admitted she didn't want to adjust her lifestyle to her new financial situation. "Why should we have to?" Tori said on her show, according to E! News. "My dad wouldn't have wanted this."

Prior to blowing through millions, Tori Spelling likely saw monetary success (hence the millions available to spend); she authored six books, she took on several made-for-TV movies and other roles (like the revival of Donna Martin in the 90210 reboot), and she starred in five reality shows with husband Dean McDermott.

Outlets report Tori earned $100,000 an episode on David Tutera's CELEBrations! TV series. She also took a significant pay cut at Lifetime to secure a second season of her show True Tori, earning $50,000. Tori Spelling even landed a gig as a paid spokesperson for a psychic company. (Hey, it's a hustle.)

Page Six reports the federal government "drained" Tori and Dean's bank account for the $707,487.30 the couple reportedly owed for 2014 taxes.

Yikes.

Add paying Dean's alimony to his ex-wife, and being on the hook for $220,000 in unpaid bills, and yeah ... Tori isn't filthy rich.-placeholder

Add paying Dean's alimony to his ex-wife, and being on the hook for $220,000 in unpaid bills, and yeah ... Tori isn't filthy rich.

Mary Jo Eustace, Dean McDermott's ex, recently revealed Tori "stepped up" to make her alimony payments. "... I was on that path to go back to court again in November," Eustace revealed to Us Weekly about Tori Spelling. "That's when Tori reached out to me and basically said that she would be covering the alimony because Dean didn't have any money, and she would be doing it."

In addition to paying Dean's ex, Tori was reportedly facing jail time for not paying City National Bank $202,066.10 and an additional $17,730.56 for failing to respond to the initial filing. American Express is also suing Tori for more than $125,000 in unpaid credit cards.

It's pretty safe to say Tori *isn't* super wealthy.

CelebrityNetWorth.com estimates Tori's true net worth is around $500,000 -- a far cry from the millions people she assume she has. (Certainly not "broke" in the everyday sense, but not wealthy in the eyes of Hollywood.)

Tori Spelling acknowledges her part in her financial situation. "Growing up in my family we didn't talk about money a lot," the celeb mom once admitted, People reports. "I don't blame anyone, but that probably set me up for not knowing too much about how to handle money a little bit, and I don't want the same thing to happen with my children ..."

The former TV star has taken actions, like reportedly downsizing her home (twice), to try to make financial adjustments in her life.

Here's hoping Tori and her family are able to turn their situation around.-placeholder
