Something tells us a certain pop star will be singing "Piece of Me" to herself for a long time. Word is Kevin Federline might sue Britney Spears for more child support, as he reportedly just rejected her camp's proposal for increased payments. And yeah, this might get messy.

  • The dad of six allegedly "flatly rejected" ex-wife Britney's response to his request for more child support, a source told Us Weekly.

Kevin's request comes after he recently made headlines for trying to get more money from Britney Spears -- in addition to his monthly $20,000 payment. "All Kevin wants to be able to do is provide the same standard of living the boys have when they with Britney," an insider told Us Weekly about Kevin's desire for more child support. "Sean and Jayden's needs are of course changing since they are getting older, which is a major factor in the decision to seek the increase."

Britney and Kevin have two children together: sons Sean, 12, and Jayden, 11.

  • "Kevin truly wanted to try and settle the child support payment increase without getting the courts involved out of respect for Britney."

"Jamie [Britney's father] and Britney Spears sent a response to Kevin's request for an increase to his child support payments, to his lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan," the insider continued about the famous single dad. "Kevin has flatly rejected it .... Meeting with Jamie Spears, along with his lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, Kevin laid out the reasons why he was requesting the increase for child support payments. Kevin is tremendously disappointed that the offer was rejected, but is prepared to proceed."

  • And that's not all. Kevin also wants to see receipts of her income on a yearly basis for the sake of getting what's needed for their kids.

Us Weekly reveals Kevin wants "a once yearly income and expense declaration from Britney including most recent tax returns filed" so his lawyers can come up with a more up-to-date child support amount.

  • Brit did reportedly earn a cool $137 million from her Vegas residency, but does that justify this sudden desire for more money?

Hopefully these two can figure things out before all of this madness turns into an avoidable celebrity scandal.
