In a new interview with Elle Magazine, Kim Kardashian opened up about different details of her life, including her experience with surrogacy, or technically speaking, her gestational carrier. And unsurprisingly, she is receiving some criticism for one of her decisions during the process.

  • In her interview, Kim Kardashian admitted to using gender selection for her daughter, Chicago West.

Due to a dangerous placenta condition, Kim had to use a surrogate for her third child. Although she struggled with it a little, it went really well overall.

  • “I hated being pregnant, but as much as I hated it, I still wished I could have done it on my own," Kim told Elle. “The control is hard at the beginning. Once you let that go, it’s the best experience. I would recommend surrogacy for anybody.”

The reason Kim and Kanye chose to have a girl wasn't actually because they felt they needed to have another girl, Kim just asked that they use the "healthiest" embryo.

“It’s a really tricky thing. What sex do you put in?” Kim said. “I just said, ‘Which one is the healthiest? Pick the healthiest one,’ and that was a girl.”

  • However, some critics couldn't help but throw out absurd reasons for her choosing to have a girl.

  • Come. On.

  • But, some people said that Kim's reasoning doesn't matter because it's "her body."

  • No matter what people think about the situation, it all comes down to the health of the baby and what Kim thought was best.
